Donald Trump held talks with Lord Cameron, Foreign Secretary, at Mar-a-Lago. David Cameron met the most influential and important people in America, to discuss aid to Ukraine, the Israel-Hamas War, the “Special Relationship” between the UK and US, NATO Defence, upcoming elections (particularly in the UK and US) as well as Brexit policies.
It is safe to assume that David Cameron is attempting to create good relations with the likely future President.
After meeting with Trump, Lord Cameron met with Republican and Democrat Lawmakers. He was expected to meet Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House.
The Primary concern of Lord Cameron’s visit to America is the freeing of $60 Billion in Ukraine Aid currently halted in the US House of Representatives. Donald Trump has pressured Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, not to let this bill come to a vote on the House floor.
What is stopping it from being passed?
Previously, the bill was included in the $118 Billion Border Security Bill, a last-minute attempt by Joe Biden and the Democrats ahead of the November election to make it seem like they have taken steps to improve Border Security.
Despite this attempt, over 1 million migrants have illegally crossed into the US this year, adding to the 7.6 million illegal migrants who have crossed into America during Biden’s term before 2024.

Lord Cameron told Trump to tell the Republicans to back the Ukraine aid bill “to show borders matter.” The irony of telling Donald Trump that borders matter when the UK’s southern border has let in over 5,000 migrants, who have illegally entered the UK.
The UK’s number pales in comparison to America’s influx, but the UK’s population has risen by 7 million in the last ten years. This is due to migrant families having more children, putting a strain on the UK’s public infrastructure, particularly hospitals and schools.
David Cameron failed to get a meeting with Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, to discuss the release of the $60 Billion of Ukraine aid.
How does this impact Ukraine?
David Cameron stated, “It is in our interest to keep supporting Ukraine.”
Russia has been making steady gains across the East of Ukraine due to Ukraine’s lack of men and ammunition. Lord Cameron knows the UK has drained all reserves it has and has given everything it can to Ukraine. Any more donations would leave the UK Military with no fighting force.

The UK Military is at an all-time low in terms of strength. Ukraine aid is emptying warehouses and a recruitment crisis is leaving many jobs understaffed. Furthermore, any British any remaining aid from Nato would not be large enough to adequately replenish Ukraine’s deficit.
European NATO members currently need America to send a large sum of aid to Ukraine, for their money to be effective.
Cameron also met with Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State, to discuss the main topics of interest over his trip.

It is fair to say that Cameron’s trip has yet to produce any outcome of significance. This was a disappointing trip, where America’s politicians seemingly overlooked Cameron.
