Trump’s Dream Team Forms

Since winning earlier this month, President Trump has been gradually announcing who will serve in his cabinet. There are 15 main roles in the U.S. Cabinet, with Trump having already chosen 7 of the 15. In addition to the main 15 appointments, Trump has announced several senior positions, in what is often referred to as the “extended U.S. Cabinet”. Trump has learned from his mistakes in the first term, where his cabinet was full of neocons (people who were often more focused on military intervention, regime change, and aggressive foreign policies than the interests of the American People).

When Trump first chose his cabinet 8 years ago, he didn’t know everything about the candidates, so had to trust close advisors, however, this is not the case in 2024. Trump is now an experienced politician, who knows who will be a right fit for each position, and most importantly, who shares the same vision as Trump, to make America great again.

How Senate Confirmation works:

The 24 senior cabinet nominees require Senate confirmation, for them to officially be confirmed into the President’s government. Senate confirmation involves the nominee going through committee hearings where they are questioned about their qualifications, views, and potential conflicts of interest. If they successfully pass this first stage, they move on to a full Senate.

Trump’s Cabinet Picks:

Secretary of State

Marco Rubio has been chosen as Secretary of State, after previously competing with Trump in the 2016 Republican Presidential Nominee race. He has been a Republican Florida Senator since 2010. Mr. Rubio is a Cuban American born in Miami Florida, who has gained recognition for his harsh, but just, foreign policy, particularly against China. The Secretary of State is in charge of U.S. Foreign Policy, representing the United States abroad and appointment of diplomats.

Attorney General

Matt Gaetz was a Congressman for Florida’s 1st Congressional District, who is potentially Trump’s most controversial pick. Matt Gaetz was due to have a House investigation report come out for him allegedly paying an underage girl for sex and using illegal drugs. No criminal charges have been filed against Matt Gaetz after several investigations by the House Ethics Committee and the U.S. Department of Justice. Gaetz is seen as a Trump loyalist and has resigned from his position in Congress, demonstrating that he is committed to getting the role of Attorney General.

Secretary of Health and Human Services

Former Democrat and American Political Royalty, Robert F Kennedy Jr. has been campaigning and advocating for for reforms in American health care for over 30 years, particularly in the removal of fluoride from drinking water, and regulating how “Big Pharma” (major Pharmaceutical companies with an interest in growing people’s dependence on medicine) advertises to the masses. Robert F Kennedy Jr. was an environmental lawyer, which is one of the many reasons Trump has been persistent in keeping R.F.K. Jr. away from the oil industry and focusing on the healthcare sector.
